Holly and IvyMerry Merry Christmas to you!

I wish you a very Merry Christmas with your loved ones today. I wish you joy, laughter, health, and happiness all rolled into one. 🙂

Now for you reading this who may be struggling on this Christmas,  you  who is  not with your loved ones today because  you  are stuck in an airport or snowed in at home by yourself, whatever your circumstances are that you might think do not  fit your idea of an  “ideal, happy  Christmas” (maybe you’re with family and still struggling…), then  how about  focusing on everything that is going right for you at this very moment? That’s right, instead of overeating in an attempt to make yourself feel better and/or to relieve stress, how about taking a different approach…

How about putting your focus on every little thing that you  can find  to be thankful for right now,  and if you’re having a hard time coming up with something then here’s a couple of basic things you could focus on and be thankful for:

  • You can read.
  • You have an internet connection and you can watch funny videos and laugh all day if you want to.
  • You are alive Right Now and NOW is the moment in which you can always choose a different thought, a different way of looking at things.

The holidays can either be a fabulous time or sometimes a tough time,  depending on how you look at it and what you have going on in your life today. If you are struggling remember that this is just another day and you can choose to look at it how you wish to. The thing is that you’ll do yourself a favor by taking the route of focusing on what’s going right for you  instead of trying to soothe your holiday struggles with food because when this day is done and gone, what will you be left with? Overweight to deal with??

So have fun with it, focus on what’s working for you, and go with the flow today  no matter where you are at. I’m sending you joy and positive thoughts today while  I’m spending time with my family and running  interference between my youngest nephew and the Christmas tree ornaments (lol, yeah, he’s  a one-year old). A fun time for sure  all around – Merry Christmas!
