Ok, it’s time for another reality check. It’s October 1, 2009. You’ve had a total of 9 months to get the fat off since you made that New Years Resolution. You have either easily dropped a total of 72 pounds of fat  (only 2 pounds per week) or at minimum, 36 pounds of fat since January 1.

If this is YOU, congratulations! What are you doing hanging out here then? Why not get outside and enjoy yourself?! Great Job!

On the other hand, if you haven’t done a darn thing to drop the fat over the past 9 months (36 weeks)  then where will you be on January 1, 2010? Will you be making yet another New Years Resolution, telling yourself that you will FINALLY take action and drop the fat?  Where is your fat today, October 1, 2009? Is it keeping you safe, keeping you comfortable? Is your fat keeping you in Tomorrowland where you  continuously tell yourself you’ll do it “tomorrow”?

Or are you taking action NOW because you realize that there is NO tomorrow? Are you stopping all excuses, stopping the “Tomorrowland” behavior, and actually releasing the fat Today?

If Not NOW, When??

The Holidays will continue to come, year after year, and you will continue to either do the same thing over and over again expecting a different result (Einstein’s definition of insanity) or you could choose to do something about your issue with food and your body Today. You always have choice, no one else can ever make that choice for YOU, and you could easily decide right now that this is your time to act.

Is It That Easy?

Yes, believe it or not, it really is that easy…or is it? Is that really all it takes is a decision to take action NOW?

Well yes, and no. You must begin with that decison, otherwise you won’t get anywhere, however if it feels like too much of a struggle for you to take action then you still won’t reach your goal. Why would you continue to struggle when it would be so much easier to just give in to your impulses to eat whatever, whenever, however much you want to, regardless of whether or not that behavior is destructive to your self-esteem, your self-worth, much less to your inner desire to drop the fat?

So if it’s just too gosh darned hard for you to move forward then you won’t. Who really wants to struggle and strain, when it would be so much fun if it were simple and easy – right?

Believe me, I’ve been there in the struggle, and it’s great fun when the actions are simple and effortless. No more fighting, no more battling, it just all comes together.

It All Begins With a Choice

Certainly however, all action does begin with a choice, a decision. If you refuse to decide when you will act and drop the fat then what you are doing is deciding NOT to act. It’s really that simple. Either you act to move forward and reach your goal or you act to keep yourself where you are, or even worse, act to gain more weight.

I find it very exciting that it’s October 1 and the choice is there for all of us as to how we shall choose to continue from this point forward. I find it exciting that the point of power always resides in your present moment. The past does not matter, nor does the future. Everything is Right NOW, and you choose now what  your results will be on your scale and in your mirror January 1, 2010.

Personal Responsibility = Personal Freedom

It’s a wonderful thing that all power resides in YOU when it comes to YOUR life. When you realize this it does not matter how many times you have failed, because your freedom comes with taking personal responsibility for all of your results. Where is your fat today and where do you choose to be 3 months from now?

It all begins NOW for you. Choose wisely, your results are up to you. My wish for you is that you enjoy the journey and keep on going to realize your own personal success. How fun  would that be for you?!
