When you believe you can lose weight, you can. If instead, you have many doubts about your ability to lose weight, or if you are “giving it a try” to see if it will work (while inside knowing your weight loss efforts are temporary), it is not likely that you will reach your weight loss and fitness goals.
If you believe that you will always be overweight, you will be. If you believe that you can change, that you can live a healthy, fit lifestyle and not only lose it, but keep it off, then you can. The key though, is that you are the only person who can hold this belief. Even if everyone else in your life gives you wonderful, positive support and believes in your abilities, if you do not believe in you, then the others’ belief in you does not matter.
The thoughts and pictures that you hold of yourself in your mind are what you will bring to fruition in your reality. If you continue to hold a picture of yourself as overweight and sedentary, this will severely cripple not only your motivation, but also your ability to reach your goal.
However, if you hold a picture of yourself as thin, healthy, enjoying physical activity, and living a healthy lifestyle that includes making daily food and exercise choices that support your health, you will naturally create this life. Your new, healthy lifestyle begins in your mind and will manifest in your physical reality.
Belief is powerful. Whatever you believe is what you get. We are focusing here on the topic of weight loss, weight management, and daily healthy living, however this principle is as old as time and applies to every area of your life.
If you haven’t considered the power of belief before, you could start by testing it out on your weight loss goals and later expand it to other areas of your life if you wish to. Start by believing that you can do this, that you can lose the weight and get fit.
