I had a wonderful time bringing you my 12-week series on emotional eating a  few months ago  while I was experimenting on myself with the Shrink Yourself program. And hey, if you missed it, you can still check it out – my introductory post to the series lists links to all 12 updates.

UPDATE 2013: Note the date on this article (2008, 5 years ago!). Five years ago I found some value in Shrink Yourself however it did not provide the permanent solution that healing the root of your lifelong food & weight struggles does. Once you do that and get a weight loss mindset, then you’ll finally make weight loss easy for yourself (and keep it off!).

Shrink Yourself is an awesome  program if you’ve been struggling with overeating, food, and overweight for most of your life and you are an emtotional eater. In fact if you have been struggling that long, going back and forth with your weight, then you more than likely do have some issues with emotional eating.

What Is Emotional Eating?

If this is the first time you’ve heard the term “emotional eating”, in simple terms it means that you are using food as a way to cope with life’s ups and downs. Instead of eating only when you are hungry and stopping when you are full you eat out of boredom, stress, fear, anxiety,  and depression. Or you may even eat when you feel happy because believe it or not, some people feel anxious when things are going well!

If you haven’t done the Shrink Yourself program yet or you’ve been using another tool to heal your emotional eating, or you haven’t started working on  your emotional eating issues  yet and you have some questions, I’d like to invite you to a free live teleseminar this Thursday evening at 8:30 pm EST. Bruce Bair who blogs at Get the Skinney will be interviewing me on the topic of emotional eating and asking me questions about my 12-week self-experiment with Shrink Yourself.
